Mi-Wuk Village is in the Sierra Nevada mountain region of California.
You can get to Mi-Wuk Village by automobile by taking Highway 108 from the Central Valley (Modesto) past Sonora. It is about 18 miles northeast of Sonora, at about 4500 feet elevation.
You can get around by walking or automobile. There is bus service provided by Tuolumne County, mainly to Sonora, but its service is limited. Mi-Wuk Village itself consists mainly of a few restaurants and stores and can be walked around. Nearby attractions such as Lyons Reservoir require an automobile, although some will bicycle and there are hiking trails.
Hike around Lyons Reservoir, or along the historic ditch. Visit the ranger station.
Shopping is limited in Mi-Wuk itself, mostly snow gear, fishing tackle, T-shirts and the like from the general store and some of the restaurants. There is somewhat more shopping in nearby Twain Harte. The main business center of the area is Sonora, with some shopping in downtown Sonora and other shopping in East Sonora.
Drink at the bar at Diamond Jim's, but watch out for the windy mountain roads afterwards.
After visiting Mi Wuk Village you may want to continue on Highway 108 to Pinecrest Lake, a great place for hiking, fishing, and boating during the summer, or Dodge Ridge Ski Area or Leland Meadows Snow Play Area in winter.
